I have loved the look of Cloth Habit‘s Watson bra but hesitant to purchase the pattern. A potential customer loved the look of it but she had found the bra style she wanted sold in a shopping complex. Most likely she does not want me to make one.

Knowing that my 15 year old niece prefer this style, I made one for her. She is a size 32B and it fit her perfectly.

Bramaking Watson

For the first bra, I used Spotlight cotton jersey knit.

Since I finally got the blades for the rotary cutter, I now use the cutter for cutting all the pieces.

This is my second bra for her. I got this fabric from an online seller, Ulatkain.

The stopping block to make more for her is that she wants anything with black print. And my stash only have these two prints that meet her requirement.

Time to go shopping.

Late 2017, a local online lingerie shop owner approached me to make custom bralette. A lot of Googling was made and I saw that it was ‘easy’ to make one. In addition, here in Malaysia it is not common to sew our own brassieres.

After purchasing the most basic Craftsy online classes, patterns, and the hardware required I had a trial class on Dec 23 at Spotlight Mytown. bra making 3

After tweaking the approach and methods to conduct the classes, a second class was held at the same venue yesterday. It was successful. Here are some of the handiwork of the students. bramaking Jan 20

In addition, I have received a few queries for custom made brassieres. Some are from those who are well endowed and have difficulty finding the right size here. A few came during the workshop to try out the forms I have made in their sizes.Bramaking form 40E

And finally, my telekung or prayer gown that has the quilted look that I love so much. It falls just above the knees and the lining is covering the chest area.

If you are interested to carry my products, please come and meet me there. WA me at 60162222004 for appointments or where to find me.

I have been fortunate to have several places to run my patchwork classes beside the Spotlight branches.

The venues include Shah Alam, Bandar Baru Bangi, and Seri Kembangan. Hopefully, I am able to reach out to a wider audience.

However, outside of Klang Valley the only hope is online classes. I will send the materials via registered mail. The classes will be conducted via email zarina.craft at gmail dot com (remove the spaces, replace at with @ and the word dot with .), FaceBook PM (Zarina Craft) or Whatsapps (+60 16 222 2004). There will be ample photos and short videos on the steps.

Below are posters for the upcoming classes in October and November 2016. Hope to see you all.

This request was made for a customer that I was referred to. She wanted ten handkerchieves for her husband with his initials, JR. I recommended to add the edging all around.

The simple embroidery was done using a variegated #30 weight Sulky thread.

I am not keen on marking fabric with any erasable marker, no matter how trusted the brand is. Especially on these white handkerchieves.

Meet my favourite sewing buddy, the masking tape. For all the ten pieces, I used only four long strips the length of the handkerchief. Dec5_15_2

There are many bloggers who give good posts on color. How the choice of color combinations work for your product. My favourite has removed her posts for her book.

And I was fortunate to attend a fiber course with this topic by ACG a few years ago.

Finally, I am able to peruse this knowledge to my heart content in this custom order for The Batik Boutique.sep30_14_1 sep30_14_2 sep30_14_3 sep30_14_4 sep30_14_5For more information on these batik greeting cards, please contact The Batik Boutique directly.

with The Batik Boutique.

I started using Velcro but it was not working. There were some tearing of the inner vinyl side.

So now, we are using zippers … after facing my fears of zippers head on. After over 100 snack packs made with zippers, we are on a roll.

For the past few years, I have limited myself to the number of exchanges that has been organised by the great NEEDLESnCRAFT, NNC group. However, due to some prompting I have joined the latest  exchange.

The exchange requires us to make two (2) flowers out of seven (7) hexagon petals. Some of the participants have stated how they want the flowers to be.

It is nothing new for me. I have made a queen size quilt out of hexagons for my parents eons ago (it is now very thin since I used polyester batting).

I have fabric for the petals so I just pull out from my stash or leftover from my previous projects.

There are also a lot of paper hexagon templates I have made for a mobile project. That will have to be put at the back burner since my hands do ache if I do too much hand crafting.

These blue prints (as requested by my partner) are from previous quilts.
